Sir Richard Knighton (1988, Honorary Fellow) appointed Chief of the Defence Staff
Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton KCB ADC FREng has been appointed Chief of the Defence Staff and takes up his new role next month.
Sir Richard studied Engineering at °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ and most recently served as Chief of the Air Staff, in which capacity he was responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of all aspects of RAF operations.
In his new role, Sir Richard will be accountable for delivering the strategic defence review published earlier this year, overseeing readiness, budgeting, and decision making for the whole of the Armed Forces.
